VendingMiser
A typical vending machine consumes 6 times more electricity per year than an average home refrigerator. By using the VendingMiser from Greater Sudbury Hydro Inc., you can reduce electricity use of each cold drink vending machine by an average of 40% annually.
VendingMiser® uses a passive infrared sensor to determine when the surrounding area is vacant, the device powers down the machine to conserve energy when no one is in the area. Additionally, the device:
- Monitors room temperature and periodically re-powers the machine to maintain the desired product temperature.
- Detects if the compressor is operating, and will not power down until it is done running. This eliminates compressor short cycling.
- Immediately powers up the machine if a customer approaches-if in power down mode.
- Helps the machine create less heat when lights and motors are powered down, so drinks in the machine stay cold and can even get colder by 1 degree.
How does the Program work?
Greater Sudbury Hydro will sell you the VendingMiser® units. Once the units are installed and operating, a Greater Sudbury Hydro representative will inspect the installation. If the installation is satisfactory you will be rebated of $175.00 per unit (almost 90% of the purchase price)
